A beautiful house on 95A street in Alberta Avenue. Very nice people live here too!

As snow begins to fall and neighborhood streets come alive with brightly coloured lights, thoughts of family, friends and entertaining start to come to mind. Although the holidays can undoubtedly be stressful, it is also the perfect time to fill your home with the laughter and joy of loved ones.  Before the masses descend on your home this festive season, take a few pre-emptive measures to ensure it serves as a warm and inviting environment for your guests. After all, a house should be a reflection of those who make it a home.

  • Clear a path to your front door and stay on-top of outdoor maintenance and shoveling
  • Sweep the chimney, buy firewood and inspect the fireplace’s damper for proper opening and closing
  • Set the mood with candles and soft lighting
  • Be aware of scents. While the smell of gingerbread can be enticing to some, others may find it overwhelming. Know your audience and if in doubt opt for the ‘less is more’ mentality.

The tips above are also great suggestions to keep in mind when showing a home to prospective buyers. Inviting atmospheres sell!

This holiday season, enjoy the home you’ve worked hard to create, surround yourself with radiant people and count your blessings.

If you, or anyone you know, is thinking about starting the search for a new home please give me a call. I’d love to help turn your dreams into a reality.

Sending best wishes for a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year to all of my valued clients and their families. I look forward to working with you in 2013!
